Privacy notice
What we collect, and what we do with it.
Draft — to be checked before launch. Confirm the controller details, any ICO registration number, and the processors you actually use.
Who we are
LevantNexus is a daily intelligence brief on Iraq, the Kurdistan Region and Syria, written and operated by Shwan Zulal in London. For anything in this notice, write to [email protected].
What we collect
When you request a trial, pricing or advisory work we collect the details you enter in the form: your name, work email, organisation, which briefing you want, your sector, and anything you tell us you are tracking. If you email us directly we keep that correspondence.
Why, and on what basis
We use these details to reply to your enquiry, set up and deliver the brief, and contact you before a trial ends. The legal basis is your consent, given when you tick the box on the form, and — once you subscribe — the performance of our agreement with you.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and deliver email: a form-handling service that receives the enquiry form, an email provider, and a newsletter platform that sends the brief. They process your details only on our instructions. We never sell your details or pass them to anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into a trial or subscription are deleted after twelve months. Subscriber details are kept for as long as you subscribe and for up to two years afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold, withdraw consent, or object to how we use them, by writing to the address above. Every edition carries an unsubscribe link. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
